The lantern shape at the heart of this trellis came into Ottoman design from North Africa and stayed. Every outline meets the next, so the pattern never resolves into a single focal point — which is exactly why it works on something you carry.

The same cloth we use for our pillow covers: dense pile, deep colour, a sheen that shifts as the light moves. Cut and sewn by hand in women-owned workshops, and because each bag is cut from a different part of the bolt, no two are placed the same.
