A monochrome chevron on handwoven silk velvet. If you own one patterned bag, this is the one that will go with everything already in your wardrobe.

The oldest rhythm on the loom

The chevron exists because of how weaving works: reverse the direction of the weft and a zigzag appears on its own. It turns up in Anatolian kilims, in border bands, in the edges of prayer rugs. Stripped to black and cream, it stops reading as folk pattern and starts reading as pure graphic.

Handwoven, never printed

Woven into the pile, so the black holds real depth instead of sitting flat, and the cream picks up light along the ridges. Each bag is cut from a different length of cloth.
