The fan that appears everywhere

The fanned shell form runs through Ottoman decoration in places you would not expect: the fluting of a mihrab niche, the head of an arch, the border of a tile panel. It works because it does two things at once, suggesting a natural object and a piece of architecture in the same shape.

Handwoven, never printed

The scallops are woven into the velvet pile, so each fan catches light along its curve and falls into shadow at the fold. Every bag is cut from a different part of the bolt, so your scallops sit where no one else's do.
