A purple suzani lumbar pillow cover with carnations

Purple carnation rosettes with gold accents, hand-embroidered across an ivory ground in a 16" × 24" lumbar. Purple is the rarest colour in hand embroidery, which makes this one of the more unusual covers in the collection.

Purple and gold

The fanned carnation is the same motif as the blue cover, but purple shifts the whole mood from fresh to jewel-like, and the gold detailing gives it a richness the lighter colourways do not have.

Styling it

The ivory ground keeps the purple from going heavy, so it lifts a neutral room rather than darkening it. Good against gray, cream and warm wood.
