Suzani Lumbar Pillow Cover | Multicolor 16x24

A multicolor suzani lumbar pillow cover on cream

Neat rows of small tulip-and-fan motifs in red, blue, gold and green march across a cream ground, hand-embroidered in a 16" × 24" lumbar. A whole palette on one cover, in an orderly stripe rather than a scatter.

The banded repeat

Every colour here is a separate pass of thread, so a piece this varied is among the most labour-intensive in the collection. Lining the motifs into bands is what keeps all that colour looking deliberate rather than busy.

Styling it

This is the cover to reach for when a room already has several colours and needs one object to tie them together. The cream ground keeps it calm; put it on a plain sofa and let it pull the palette in.
