The ogee medallion

The pointed oval — the ogee — runs from Ottoman tilework through Central Asian textiles because it tiles endlessly without ever closing. Left on its own and worked in gold, it reads as exactly what the name suggests: restrained and regal.

Styling it

The most versatile cover here. Taupe and gold are close to neutral, so it lifts a dark sofa without shouting and warms a pale one. If you want one suzani cover that will sit anywhere, this is it.
