A forest and amber evil eye, crocheted by hand

The only two-colour eye in the collection: a deep forest green outer ring closing over a broad band of amber, then white, then the pale blue iris. Green tassels at either side, on a natural linen ground.

Why two colours is harder

Each ring is crocheted outward from the pupil, so a second colour means the yarn is changed mid-round and carried without showing on the face. It is the most worked of the five, and the reason the amber band is never exactly the same width twice.

Styling it

Green and gold is the pairing that reads least like a talisman and most like a graphic. It holds its own against patterned upholstery where the single-colour eyes would get lost.
