A deep pomegranate evil eye, crocheted by hand

A single nazar worked in deep pomegranate red, ringed in white around a pale blue iris, on a natural linen ground. Knotted tassels at either side finish it. The motif is crocheted separately and stitched down by hand, which is why the ring is never perfectly round.

An eye that looks back

The logic of the nazar is confrontational rather than defensive. It does not hide you from the envious gaze; it returns it. That is why the amulet is always an open eye and never a closed one, and why it is hung where it can be seen rather than tucked away.

Styling it

Pomegranate is the boldest of the five colourways and the one that reads from furthest away. It sits well on cream, oatmeal and mid-grey upholstery.
