The Ottomans called this loose, all-over flowering style serpme — scattered — and reserved it for the pieces meant to be looked at closely. Because nothing repeats, the eye keeps moving; a woven silk in the same style could take a weaver months.

Shaped and painted individually in Turkey. Colour goes on beneath the glaze, gold gilding over it, so the surface stays glossy and the line stays sharp. Every blossom is placed by hand, so the scatter differs from piece to piece.
