Why ikat edges are never sharp

Ikat is dyed before it is woven. The yarn is bound in sections, dipped, then aligned on the loom thread by thread, which no human hand can do perfectly. The soft feathering at every colour change is the result, and it is how you identify genuine hand ikat rather than a printed copy.

The diamond, or baklava

The diamond lattice is among the oldest organising forms in Turkish weaving, carrying associations of abundance and protection across Anatolian regional traditions.
