Why the lattice never ends

Interlacing geometry became the central language of Islamic ornament once figurative image was set aside. A well-made lattice has no centre and no edge, only a pattern that could continue past the boundaries of whatever it is drawn on. Anatolian weavers, tile makers and stone carvers all worked in it.

Handwoven, never printed

The pattern is built into the pile rather than printed on the surface, so the orange glows where light strikes it and the teal recedes. Each bag is cut from its own part of the bolt.
